Chocolate Miso Bread Pudding

Indulge in Chocolate Miso Bread Pudding, a twist on a traditional dessert with rich chocolate and umami miso. This dish is made from soaked stale bread cubes mixed together with eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla that make the pudding. After that, there is the addition of dark chocolate chunks or chips to the mixture as an individual to add some decadence. For the secret ingredient, miso paste imparts its salty umami notes which helps balance out the sweetness of the chocolate. When ready it comes out puffed up and golden brown with a crust caramelized appearance and inside is smooth creaminess filled with melted chocolate. Dessert can be served warm sprinkled with powdered sugar or drizzled with caramel sauce for both comfort food and something extra special when one least expects it. It will linger in your mouth for some time due to its fusion of sweet and savory flavors; making it just perfect for intimate gatherings or soothsayers after a savory meal.

Ingredients:

6 cups cubed day-old bread

1/2 cup chocolate chips

2 tablespoons white miso paste

2 cups milk

1/2 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Put the cubed bread and chocolate chips into the baking dish.

Mix miso paste and milk in a medium saucepan, whisking until the miso paste dissolves completely over medium heat.

In another bowl, whip together sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract using a whisker.

While stirring continuously to avoid curdling, slowly pour in the miso milk mixture into the egg mixture.

Pour this over the bread and chocolate chips on top of which press it down so that all of your bread is covered with the mixture.

Ensure that you put aside for thirty or more minutes while you allow the liquid to seep through almost all parts of your bread pudding.

Now place this dish inside an oven where it must bake for about forty to forty-five minutes or until pudding is set and upper part turns golden brownish yellow in color.

Withdraw from warming section followed by slight cooling before serving. Enjoy Chocolate Miso Bread Pudding!
