Bacon-Wrapped Dates

Bacon-Wrapped Dates offer a blend of flavors that are both sweet and savory. That’s because it is an appetizer made by wrapping slices of crispy bacon around juicy dates. Every Medjool date can be filled with almond filling or creamy goat cheese, after which it is wrapped up using a slice of delicious bacon and secured using a toothpick. By baking them until the bacon gets crispy and caramelized, these bites possess opposing textures and tastes that are awesome. The sweetness of the dates complements the richness of the cheese/nut filling while the bacon adds a crunchy taste. Bacon-Wrapped Dates may also be garnished with some fresh thyme or balsamic glaze for extra flavoring. It’s great to have these at parties, gatherings or as an anytime snack/appetizer idea since they’re so easy to make.

Ingredients:

16 Medjool dates, pitted

8 slices of bacon, cut in half

1/4 cup of goat cheese

1/4 cup of almonds, sliced

Toothpicks

Instructions:

Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C), then place a sheet of parchment on a baking dish.

Put inside each pitted date some goat cheese and an almond slice or two.

Wrap the stuffed dates in half a slice of bacon and use toothpicks to keep them together.

When ready, place them onto the baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until bacon is crispy enough.

Don’t forget to take out once it has cooled down very slightly before eating. Enjoy this delicious appetizer!
